SILHOUETTES

A silhouette is a solid, dark, two-dimensional shape – typically black – that represents the outline of a person, object, or scene against a lighter, contrasting background. It features no internal details or textures, focusing entirely on the
outer contour.
The focus of this class will be to adapt this concept to rug hooking using wool and beads. You will create your own very unique silhouette. A variety of interesting backgrounds will be used to enhance your silhouette.
Patterns, wool and beads will be available for purchase. Handouts and partial kits will be available. A supply list will be sent prior to the Conference.

Ingrid Hieronimus is a certified teacher of the OHCG. She has also completed her certification in the Fibre Arts in Rug Hooking program at St. Lawrence College as well as her McGown Teaching Certification and Oxford Punch Needle Teaching Certification. Ingrid has been rug hooking for over 45 years and supplying rug hooking materials for 30 years through Ragg Tyme Studio in Mannheim, Ontario. Ingrid conducts seminars, workshops, and individual classes in her studio as well as classrooms in Canada, the United States, and England. She is the author of the dye books Primary Fusion, Primary Fusion Spot, Multiple Fusion, and Multiple Fusion Spots. Her rugs have been featured in rug hooking magazines and exhibits in Ontario and across the country.
