FINISHING ORIENTALS AND KILIMS: Kilim Stitch, Fringes and Tassels (Advanced)

This finishing workshop will cover a variety of options to finish hooked oriental and kilim rugs. Whipping options, adding a ‘kilim’ and a fringe for rugs hooked both on linen and rug warp. Four variations of the ‘kilim stitch’ and various methods of
adding a fringe to a rug hooked on linen will be shown. Knotting, double knotting, wrapping or twisting fringes, will be demonstrated, as will creating wrapped tassels to add to a hooked saddlebag.
A kit fee of $10 (paid directly to the instructor) covers handout and all materials required piece of rug warp and
linen foundation, needle, fringe material.
