Standing wool within hooked rugs can provide a textured, more 3 dimensional design.  Raised areas can highlight a focal point or create a sense of movement.  In this class, we will look at examples of rugs and discuss how to achieve these effects.  Quilling and standing wool on their own can also create a stunning piece of fibre art.  We will cut, spiral, and stitch our way to a fascinating piece of coiled art.

Bring a pair of scissors and washed wool fabric in a variety of colours and textures.

Yvonne Iten-Scott is a contemporary textile artist.  She has taught and exhibited around the world and is a faculty member at Fleming College in Haliburton.  She has also had textile art residences in Iceland, Shetland and Morocco.
