During this workshop, using watercolours, you will learn key colour concepts like hue, saturation, and value.    How to shade motifs by reading value without numbered charts will be demonstrated.  You will also be shown how understanding these colour concepts can be used to create original, impressionistic rugs.

No prior watercolour painting experience is needed.

Workshop Fee: $60.00

Materials Fee: $25.00 (mandatory kit includes a comprehensive handout and paint supplies – watercolour pigments, water colour paper, support board, and the loan of a watercolour palette and watercolour brush in class.)

Jane Bridgeman was introduced to rug hooking 15 years ago.  She became an OHCG certified teacher in 2018 and completed her McGown certification in 2023. Like many, she graduated from using commercial patterns and now prefers to design her own rugs. She loves any opportunity to teach, and is constantly impressed by the range of creativity seen at rug hooking events. A growing interest in textiles led her to explore spinning, weaving, and linen production over the last few years.
