nearly new rug hookers who wish to review and renew rug hooking techniques.

theory and use of colour; design; dyeing/ over-dyeing; finishing methods;
care & repair; suppliers; rug hooking organizations; further study opportunities.
Teacher: Sharon Harvey
OPEN CLASS
Bring an ‘in progress” project for support and encouragement to
finish it OR a new project for inspiration to get you started. Dyeing, colour
planning, designing, technique, theory, practical tips and ‘secrets’,
geometric, pictorial, primitive, painterly shading, finishing – by the
end of the week-end you will have the answers and information you need to finish
your project.
Teacher: Herb Vandewall
THE VALUE OF COLOUR
Every colour has its own tonal value. Using an assigned pattern and a personal
colour palette, we will explore how value and temperature can help to create
form. Employing a few simple tips and tools you will be more confident in
your colour choices.
Teacher: Rhonda Kellett
“EWE’LL GET HOOKED ON SHEEP”
Come join us in hooking primitive or wide-cut realistic Sheep! You will be
shown how to hook with multi fibres such as alpaca and roving. Design your
own rug, bring a commercial pattern, or use one of the teacher’s designs.
All levels of experience are welcome.
Teacher: Marie Miller
WIDE CUT PRIMITIVES WITH TEXTURE
If you aren’t already a devotee of wide-cut hooking, this is the class
that will open your mind. You’ll learn that wide cut can be much more
than primitives. You’ll fall in love with the texture of recycled wool
and find easy ways to change it from not-so-fetching to fabulous. Bring a pre-printed
pattern on backing suitable for 5 cut and up. Or bring ideas and design and
colour plan your very own original pattern.
Teacher: Grace Tanfara
ULTIMATE HOOK-IN
Have you ever wished for some uninterrupted time away from the demands and
challenges of everyday life to hook on a project or two – maybe even
finish something? Here’s your opportunity. No teacher, but lots of
sharing and learning from one another. Meet new friends; renew ‘old’ friendships;
enjoy the laughter and the hooking.
