Georgetown Rug Hooking Guild Celebrates 50 years of Rug Hooking

The Georgetown Rug Hooking Guild is celebrating 50 creative years. The 50th Anniversary Display in the Helson Gallery and Lobby areas of the Halton Hills Cultural Centre (9 Church Street, Georgetown, L7G 2A3) is a retrospective of hand hooked pieces created by former and current members from 1968 until the present.  The display will be available from Wednesday, September 12th until Wednesday, October 31st.

Gallery hours are 1 pm – 5 pm Wednesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday and 1 pm – 8:30 pm on Thursdays.

On Saturday, September 29that 1 pm Michelle Sirois-Silver (www.michellesirois-silver.com) from British Columbia will be speaking about her journey as a rug hooker & textile artist at the John Elliott Theatre in the Halton Hills Cultural Centre.  Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door. And in the tradition of all rug hooking groups, we have a raffle for hand hooked items. Raffle tickets will be available until September 29th from our Guild members or at the display.

OHCG Fall School & Annual Conference

The Theme for the 2018 OHCG Fall School in Ancaster is "Birds of a Feather"; Oct. 25—28, 2018.
"Birds of a Feather" is the Competition Theme for the 2019 OHCG Annual Conference. running April 12—14th, 2019. Rug Display open to the public Sunday, April 14, from 10am to 3pm. $10 admission fee.
