About Us

About Us

The Ontario Hooking Craft Guild was established in 1966 to promote the art and craft of rug hooking across the communities of Ontario. We currently have a membership of over 1000 fibre artists supported by 80 certified teachers. The OHCG operates a yearly school for its members, offers workshops for Branches and publishes a quarterly newsletter. Join an international network of approximately 1,000 textile artists who share their enthusiasm and experience for the art of traditional rug hooking.

New guild members receive a welcome letter with information on hooking schools, events and suppliers. Our newsletter, printed quarterly, keeps everyone current, especially those unable to attend our events. We can also refer new members to a representative in their area or help locate a teacher or group to hook with.
